• Robby Bostain - rookie success
Robby Bostain recently completed an impressive rookie season with Landstede Zwolle in the Dutch first division. Beyond his big numbers (35min, 17pts, 5reb, 4ast, 3st per game), Robby was the heart and team leader of an overachieving playoff-bound Landstede squad. Robby is a super-talented and hard-working combo guard ready for bigger challenges in his second year in Europe.

• Hernol Hall - #1 rebounder in Poland
After a dominant 16 point and 14 rebound effort against SPEC Polonia, Hernol Hall (Polpharma) is now the leading rebounder in the Polish Ekstraliga (9.7 rbg). Hernol is also in the top 5 in effectiveness rating, confirming his status as one of the best all-around players in the league and one of the most intriguing big man prospects in all of European basketball.

• Congrats to our D-league draftees!
Exciting news for two SPI clients who were selected in the recent NBA D-league draft! Quin Humphrey (G - Youngstown St.) was taken with the 24th overall pick, in the 2nd round to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. In the 8th round, Michael Adams (C - Youngstown St.) was selected by the Albuquerque Thunderbirds. Both are looking forward to the challenge and prestige of playing in the D-league as they start their pro careers.

• SPI signings for 2007-2008
SPI has placed almost 15 players on teams for the 2007-2008 seasons: Chris Hunter (Leuven, BE), Dan Oppland (Plannja, SW), Hernol Hall (Polpharma, PL), Lance Harris (Zlatorog Lasko, SLO), Joe Dabbert (CB Archena, ES), Monty Scott (CAB Madeira, PT), Robby Bostain (Landstede, NL), Mike Oppland (Kaiserslautern, DE), Josh Washington and Alonzo Brooks, (both Ehingen, DE). Several outstanding SPI players remain available and will be placed ASAP.

• SPI is in the game
May 28, 2007 - Sports Plus International (SPI) has quickly established itself as a major agency in the basketball world. SPI signings include three NCAA Division II All-Americans (1st - Steven Wright, 3rd - Dustin Bremerman, HM - Zack Wright), five all-conference players (S. Wright, Bremerman, Z. Wright, Robby Bostain, Quin Humphrey), and two conference MVPs (S. Wright, Bremerman). Also, five members of the 31-4 Central Missouri DII Final Four team and three members of the top 10 DII 24-7 Cal-PA team have joined the SPI team. Other SPI signings include Lance Harris and Steve Newman from NCAA power conferences and JUCO scoring phenom Rishawn Norwood. All new players join our talented returning players from last year, led by the Oppland brothers and Hernol Hall all coming off successful European seasons. Players and teams take note - SPI is an agency to watch for the future.

• Dan Oppland - a successful first year in Europe!
April 25, 2007 --- Dan Oppland (F-Valparaiso) has just finished an impressive rookie season in the Dutch top division. He was a key starter for Hanzevast, helping them to a 25-15 record and a 3rd place finish in the league. Dan was a reliable workhorse inside, logging 27 minutes a game and posting a 12.2 scoring average and a 6.3 rebound average. Dan will add a tough and energetic inside presence, along with leadership skills, to a top European team next year.
